CADGUYS provides technical drawing and construction package support for architectural designers and practices who require additional capacity or specialist technical development.

CADGUYS provides technical drawing and construction package support for architectural designers and practices who require additional capacity or specialist technical development. Whether assisting with a single project or supporting a busy workload, we help translate approved planning drawings into detailed construction packages ready for building control and construction.
Architectural practices often approach us when projects have received planning approval and require further technical development.
Common reasons for collaboration include:
• Workload exceeding internal studio capacity
• Assistance required with building regulations packages
• Technical development of approved planning drawings
• Support delivering construction drawing packages
Our role is to act as a technical partner, allowing your practice to maintain control of the design and client relationship while we support the technical delivery of the project.
Most collaborations begin once the planning stage has been completed.
Typically the architectural designer will provide the approved planning drawings along with any available supporting information. CADGUYS will review the material and provide a quotation for the technical drawing package, advising if any additional information may be required such as structural input or drainage details.
Once instructed, we develop the approved design into a detailed construction drawing package suitable for building regulations approval and contractor tendering.
Our technical drawing packages typically include:
• Detailed construction plans
• Developed sections and elevations
• Structural coordination drawings
• Building regulations compliance drawings
• Construction details and specifications
• Optional M&E layouts where required
These drawings are developed to ensure the project can be accurately priced, approved and constructed on site.
CADGUYS works directly within your existing drawing standards. We can develop drawings using your DWG templates, title blocks, fonts, line weights and drawing conventions, ensuring the final output aligns with your practice’s existing documentation.
From the perspective of your client, the work appears as a seamless extension of your studio’s output.
CADGUYS works primarily in AutoCAD, producing traditional 2D technical drawing packages including plans, sections, elevations and detailed construction information. This allows us to integrate easily with architectural practices that operate using standard DWG-based workflows.
While we do not typically work directly within Revit or other BIM platforms, we can accept drawings that have been exported or converted to DWG format from 3D modelling software. The final output will still be delivered as clear, structured 2D construction drawings, ensuring they remain suitable for building regulations submissions, tendering and on-site construction.
Our service operates on a business-to-business basis, meaning CADGUYS works directly with the architectural practice rather than communicating with the end client.
Your practice retains full control of the client relationship, project management and commercial arrangements, while we focus on delivering the technical drawing package.
CADGUYS maintains appropriate professional indemnity insurance and takes full responsibility for the drawings we produce.

This project involved the construction of a new home on a plot that had been subdivided from a larger residential garden and sold with planning permission already in place. Working with experienced developer clients, CADGUYS supported the project through the technical design stage, preparing the detailed construction drawings and coordinating with engineers to ensure the design could be delivered efficiently on site.
